Venus Zine

Venus Zine is a magazine focusing on women in music, art, film, fashion and d.i.y. culture. That includes female solo artists and bands along with bands with women and men. The music portion of the magazine contains features and interviews as well as CD and concert reviews.

Venus Zine has a circulation of 60,000 and is available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Hastings, Hudson News, Universal News, Chapters, Indigo and independent record and book stores.

Venus is looking for just about anything good, except for death metal, sexist rap, and mainstream country. This means indie rock, hip-hop, experimental, dance and electronic, weird-folk, and pop rock. Artists to previously be featured in Venus Zine include Sleater-Kinney, Joanna Newsom, Bjork, Sufjan Stevens, Tracy + the Plastics, and the Blow. We will profile a Sonicbids artist every month on venuszine.com.

Each month, Venus will profile a different Sonicbids artist on venuszine.com, which receives approx. 150,000 unique visitors each month.

Additionally, Venus Zine is offering artists a unique opportunity to for review or editorial coverage in the magazine. If an artist is good enough, they will be included in the hard copy version of the magazine too.

Please note: Although a female band member is not required to be selected, it is strongly preferred.
