Sonicbids is a simple alternative to the endless clutter of physical press kits that is exchanged daily between musicians and the people who promote music. Our main product is the Sonicbids Electronic Press Kit (EPK). It's an easy-to-use, web-based graphic interface that contains all the basic information of a musical act such as music, photos or date calendar. The EPK can either be emailed to anyone with a click of the mouse or submitted in online promoter accounts through a virtual "Drop Box". Our success lies in the fact that we appeal to both sides of the musical spectrum: the people who make music and the people who promote it. We help musicians cut promotion costs, look professional and increase exposure; and we help event promoters by enabling them to take online submissions in minutes and by making their job simpler.
Nine 12 Records will be releasing Killradio's (Los Angeles, CA) EP, "Good Americans" in early fall 2008.
Perry Mann's Strippers and Hustlers Ball

Perry Mann's Strippers and Hustlers Ball
Deadline: Aug 8, 2008 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Exotic Erotic Ball is an annual event held in the San Francisco Bay Area every October, proximal to Halloween. Now - for the first time ever - the Producers bring the party to Las Vegas for The Strippers and Hustlers Ball, to be held at The Orleans Arena over Labor Day weekend, August 30-31.

The Strippers and Hustlers Ball is a giant party which features headline entertainment - both dj's and live bands, hot burlesque, fetish acts from across the globe, outrageous fashion, and lots of strippers. The entertainment is sometimes serious, sometimes silly, but always stimulating.

On Saturday August 30, the headline music genre will be dj's spinning house and electronic, and on Sunday August 31, the headline music genre will be live bands and upbeat rock n roll.

Sonicbids is the exclusive musical sponsor of the 2008 Strippers and Hustlers Ball. Performers slated to appear include Richard Vission on Saturday and The Genitorturers on Sunday. Some of the remaining 2008 lineup has been confirmed but is being kept under wraps.

A minimum of one musical performance slot on Sunday is being reserved for a Sonicbids artist. Besides playing as part of a great weekend lineup, selected artists will be paid (negotiated fee), be performing in front of several thousand people at once, and just might also have the time of their lives.

Tips from the Ball: Submit to be considered ONLY if your musical style is energetic and engaging, with sex appeal. The producers feel that acts that are either too passive or too raucous don't capture enough of the cross-section of attendees. Any form of visual enhancement, or offbeat "hook" would be considered a plus for this event.

For more info, visit: http://strippersandhustlersball.com/

Exotic Erotic Expo 2008

Exotic Erotic Expo 2008
Deadline: Sep 5, 2008 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Exotic Erotic Ball is an annual event held in the San Francisco Bay Area every October, proximal to Halloween. It is the longest-running adult-themed public event in U.S. history, and it features the world's largest ever masquerade ball. E! Entertainment Television has dubbed it "the World's #1 Wildest and Sexiest Party, and it is the recipient of over 50 awards and proclamations. Despite its long 29 year history, the event continues to grow in popularity and acclaim.

In 2008, the Exotic Erotic Ball is moving to Treasure Island, where Sonicbids is the exclusive musical sponsor. Last year's performers included Snoop Dogg, Peaches, Spyderz and Mini Kiss.

A minimum of one musical performance slot is reserved exclusively for a Sonicbids artist. Besides playing as part of a great lineup, selected artists will be paid according to their negotiated price and performing in front of several thousand people at once, and just might also have the time of their lives.

Submit to be considered if your musical style is energetic but also melodic. The producers feel that acts that are either too passive or too raucous don't capture enough of the cross-section of attendees. If you're act's content, lyrics or natural appeal exudes some sexiness or includes offbeat visuals, this would be considered a plus for this event.

Not all the performances are musical - this event celebrates flesh and fantasy, and most of all - freedom of expression; so there is a mix between live music and other erotic styles that may range from traditional burlesque and circus acts to bondage, body-painting, and the bizarre. It's Halloween Weekend, so there are a lot of hilarious hijinks on hand, and as the prizes for best outfits are substantial, the costumes worn by attendees are elaborate and frequently outrageous.

For more info, visit: http://www.exoticeroticball.com

JazzTimes Magazine (December 2008 Issue)

JazzTimes Magazine (December 2008 Issue)
Deadline: Aug 12, 2008 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

JazzTimes Magazine dates back to Radio Free Jazz, a publication founded in 1970 by Ira Sabin when he was operating a record store in Washington, DC. It was originally a newsletter designed to update shoppers on the latest jazz releases and provide jazz radio programmers with a means of communicating with the industry. However, Radio Free Jazz grew substantially over the next decade, attracting readers and writers from around the world.

In 1980, the magazine's broader focus and appeal prompted a name change, so Radio Free became JazzTimes. In 1990, the magazine also underwent a change, receiving a bold new look that incorporated exclusive cover photography and state of the art graphic design. Since then JazzTimes has continued to evolve into what is widely regarded as the world's leading jazz publication.

Today, JazzTimes has a circulation of 102,813 and distribution of 111,813 copies. The magazine is sold at all leading magazine vendors including Barnes & Noble, Blockbuster Music, Borders Books & Music, Camelot Music, Cat's Records, Central Records, Compact Disc World, Coconuts, Crossroads Entertainment, Disc Go Round, Exclusive Company, For Your Entertainment, Gallery of Sound, Harmony House, Hastings Books & Music, HMV, Kemp Mill Music, Manifest Discs & Tapes, Media Play, Michigan Wherehouse, Music Company, Music World, Music X, Oasis Music & Video, Olsson's Books & Records, Peaches, Planet Music, Record Exchange, Record Express, Record Time, Record Town, Repeat the Beat, Saturday Matinee, Strawberries, Streetside Records, Tempo Music, Tape World, Vibes Music, Virgin Megastore, The Wall, Waves Music, Wherehouse Entertainment.

The magazine features extensive new coverage, award winning jazz journalism, hundreds of CD, book and video reviews, world class photography and award-winning graphics, informative features and columns, special theme issues and much more.

Typical cover artists include Sonny Rollins, Pat Metheny, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Ornette Coleman, Joshua Redman, John Scofield, Roy Haynes, Brad Mehldau, Cassandra Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner, Joe Lovano, Christian McBride, Bill Frisell, Branford Marsalis, The Bad Plus, Dave Douglas, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Medeski Martin & Wood and Marcus Miller. Plus, legends such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Jaco Pastorius, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington.

JazzTimes is looking exclusively for jazz records. The magazine does not review or cover blues, soul, world music and folk. As long as the CD would clearly be identified as jazz, regardless of the jazz genre (smooth, mainstream, avant-garde, Dixieland, traditional, big band, vocals, etc), it will be given consideration.

Preference is given to core or established jazz artists. The appearance of these core artists (someone like Jack DeJohnette, Christian McBride or Kenny Barron) on a CD by a relatively unknown artist can be helpful in pushing a CD above the hundreds of other releases from local jazz groups. It is preferred that the group or artist has performed and gotten airplay in areas other than its home city or region. Artists must have released a physical CD, with a bar code. Recordings only available by download will not be reviewed. Releases with distribution or sales by a third party - CDBaby, Amazon, iTunes, eMusic, North Country - are preferred over releases which are only sold at gigs.

JazzTimes tries to review CDs that fit this criteria based on artistic merit. Less than 100 CDs can be reviewed per issue (10 issues per year) out of the 300-400 CDs that are received each month, so that leaves a lot of CDs un-reviewed. Please be sure that you meet all of the criteria before submitting.

JAZZTIMES AUDIO DOWNLOAD PROGRAM

JazzTimes is also making its Audio Download Program available to Sonicbids artists who submit at a HUGE DISCOUNT, over 80% off its open rate. . The Audio Download Program is a solid opportunity to get promotional tracks delivered to some of the most passionate music fans in the world and will drive traffic to your website and/or MySpace page or point folks to the e-commerce site of your choice.

The Audio Download Program offers

One track available for user download on the JazzTimes downloads page.

Rotating CD cover image on JazzTimes.com home page.

Label logo on the JazzTimes downloads page, and a link to your label or artist website.

Link to the e-commerce site of your choice for CD purchases.

CD cover image on the JazzTimes.com downloads page.

CD cover image and track info featured in a quarterly HARP magazine print ad, directing readers to the download page on JazzTimes.com.

Each quarter, one Sonicbids Download Program participant will be awarded a free JazzTimes Download package.

Please note: JazzTimes only reviews CDs which have been released within the last 3 months. Please submit only if you have a new recording which JazzTimes can consider for coverage. All artists who submit for coverage in JazzTimes Magazine will receive a one-year subscription to JazzTimes Magazine.

For more info, visit: http://www.jazztimes.com

Please note that the $2.50 submission fee is for Sonicbids processing and is in no way profited by Music Connection magazine.

Published since 1977, Music Connection magazine is a monthly, National music trade publication catering to the music industry, its loyal fans, and support services. Founded on the principle of bridging the gap between "the street and the elite," Music Connection has garnered a solid foundation of active readers, and is commonly referred to as "the musician's bible." Its broad appeal includes songwriters, producers, studio managers, agents, attorneys, publicists, label executives and, of course, professional and semi-pro musicians. Music Connection is available on newsstands, in stores around the world and online.

"New Music Critiques" is one of the many opportunities Music Connection Magazine provides for emerging artists to get worldwide attention. All genres are encouraged to submit and you must identify which THREE songs you want reviewed. Lyrics for each song must also be provided. A "New Music Critique" is defined as any recording (even a full-length CD) that is NOT professionally distributed to brick & mortar stores through a major distributor. Online distribution does not apply. If your EPK is chosen for review, you will be contacted to verify all information as current and accurate before publication. If you don't hear from us during this submission period, it just means you weren't chosen at random, so feel free to submit again next quarter. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT MUSIC CONNECTION ABOUT THE STATUS OF YOUR EPK.

Although submission in no way guarantees a review, Music Connection is looking forward to hearing your music. Sonicbids members also qualify for 15% off subscriptions to Music Connection that are one year or longer. For more information, please call 818-995-0101.

For more info, visit: http://www.musicconnection.com
