The "Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competition honors and publicizes the top vocalists each month who submit their demos to the popular SingerUniverse online magazine/website, which attracts over 70,000 visitors per month. This Competition not only spotlights the winning singer, but also showcases the Top Five Vocalists of the month. Many pro producers, A&R execs, managers and songwriters check out the winning songs each month.

Notably, the SingerUniverse Advisory Board consists of five, top industry pros: eight-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan; Walter Afanasieff (1999 Grammy Producer Of The Year, and writer/producer for Mariah Carey, Josh Groban and Celine Dion); Billy Mann (Senior A&R Executive for EMI/Capitol Records, and hit writer/producer of Pink, Jessica Simpson, Teddy Geiger); Jay Landers (Senior Vice President of Columbia Records, and Executive Producer for Barbra Streisand, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney); and Lis Lewis (top vocal coach).

SingerUniverse is headed by veteran music publisher/A&R exec Dale Kawashima, who previously was President of Michael Jackson's ATV Music, and a creative exec at Sony, Motown and Mercury Records. Kawashima is currently Executive Director of HoriPro Entertainment Group, which is an internationally-known music publishing company (with offices in Los Angeles, Nashville and Tokyo), Japan-based record label and talent agency. HoriPro publishes worldwide the catalogs of KISS, REO Speedwagon, Marilyn Manson, Sophie B. Hawkins, the Byrds, Jerry Reed, plus many country hits. HoriPro is also co-owner of WHD Records in Japan (distributed by Victor Records), which signs and releases international (English-language) artists.

The winning vocalist will be interviewed for a very positive, feature article in SingerUniverse. The article will remain online for at least one year, so many people can view this article over an extended period. The article will include a photo of the winner, streaming audio of the winning song, plus a link to the vocalist's website and email address. The winning vocalist (plus their photo) will be announced on the front, home page of the SingerUniverse site. In addition, the four other finalist demos will be spotlighted on the same article page, with the names of the finalists, their photos, streaming audio of their songs, plus their website and e-mail links. Also, the winning vocalist and four finalists will receive several prizes.

Important Note: The Top Five Vocalists each month will be reviewed for consideration by executives at HoriPro Entertainment Group and WHD Records.

As part of Universal CityWalk's free Summer Block Party entertainment series, they are partnering with the blockbuster musical Wicked to present Wannabe Wicked, a competitive performance series that will award an aspiring performer with a walk-on appearance in the Los Angeles production of Wicked. Aside from the opportunity of a lifetime to perform on stage at the Pantages Theatre, semi-finalists will be able to audition live at "L.A's Favorite Place To Play," Universal CityWalk, part of Universal Studios Hollywood^SM - The Entertainment Capital of L.A.^SM

Wannabe Wicked Wednesdays are part of Universal CityWalk's Summer Block Party featuring free entertainment seven nights per week including live bands, dancing, the popular free movie night and talent competitions from June 20 through August 31. Each Wannabe Wicked Wednesday performance will showcase ten of the selected semi-finalists to perform before a live audience at Universal CityWalk during the summer series: July 2, July 9, July 16, July 30, August 6 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

On Wednesday, August 20, one winner will be selected from the finalists and will walk away with a walk-on appearance in Wicked at the Pantages Theatre (appearance date TBD).

CAMPLIFIED 2008 emerges this summer for its 6th season with artist performances in front of a captivating and highly energetic market of 25,000+ influential teens and tweens at summer camps across the Northeast. Alternative Venue Entertainment is your access into this completely untapped live entertainment performance space.

This is a great opportunity to showcase your talent in front of America's youth, and international college age staff, the most influential tastemakers and spenders. You will have the chance to capture the hearts of teens and tweens - one of the more challenging demographics to reach - at the most musically influential time of their lives! Not to mention the fact that these tastemakers are also your best communicators! They'll want to spread the word to their friends that they were part of the artist discovery process this summer at their camp.

Camplified brings concert tours into prominent summer camps, featuring nationally touring acts from major and recognizable indie record labels. Camp audiences range from 250-500 per tour stop. Sponsors of the tour will work with Camplified to integrate artists into their music based programs. Past sponsors have been Gibson Guitars, Steve and Barry's retail chain, Von Dutch, Logitech, Scholastic, VERB campaign and Nintendo.

This year's tour will reach approximately 35 camps from Maryland to Maine and everywhere in between. Both the day camp and the overnight tours kick off on July 2nd and end on August 9th, 2008. Attendance at each camp will range from 250-1,500 teens/tweens per performance. A secondary audience, consisting of 5,000 17-25 year old staff members, is also eager to take part in the fun and enjoyment of some great rock and pop music.

At most of the dates, you will also be able to sell your merchandise, create a mailing list, and start future interaction with your new fan base while Camplified takes care of the promotion! Your responsibility is to show up, rock out and entertain! Additional promotional opportunities will take place after the summer that will allow the winning artists to continue marketing efforts through Camplified's targeted sponsorship program both online and through guerrilla campaigns onsite at several key locations trafficked by teens and tweens.

Important facts to keep in mind:

Camplified is planning local radio promotions to publicize the artists as well as our sponsors. Journalists will be on-site reporting back to several media outlets about the day to day experiences on tour with respect to all artists and all activities.
Artists are required to participate in autograph signings and other "meet and greet" events at each tour stop. Since the tour stops typically last up to a full day, artists are encouraged to participate in some of the activities with campers. Getting along with kids of all ages is a big plus as it generates future communication with your band and the kids

The camps want us because we provide safe, fun, "star power" entertainment for their kids in an innovative manner. Top brands want us because we help them connect to teens/tweens in a way that goes above and beyond traditional methods. The labels want us because we help them break new acts with a lot of buzz by providing a one of a kind marketing vehicle. And now we're opening up that opportunity to the indie world. Italia Wave is a week long event featuring concerts by the best established stars as well as up-and-coming artists from the international rock scene. This year's festival will take place from July 16 through July 19 in a new location - Livorno, Tuscany.

Over 140 artists will perform on 8 stages. This year, Italia Wave has reserved a performance slot exclusively for a non-Italian Sonicbids artist. The artist will receive a $2000 USD subsidy directly from Sonicbids, who will also cover the costs of ground transportation and production directly with Italia Wave. Confirmed performers for this year's Italia Wave festival include: The Verve, Chemical Brothers, Gnarls Barkley, Elio e le Storie Tese, The Wombats, Pivot, Segent Garcia and Sud Sound System & Bag a riddim band. Last year's attendance was over 160,000 people.

The Italia Wave Love Festival (formerly Arezzo Wave Love Festival) started back in 1987. Arezzo Wave Love Festival is curated and organized by the Arezzo Wave Italy Foundation. In recent years, Arezzo Wave grew from being a rock festival to a more cultural event, presenting new cultural sections and new stages: literature, movies, theatre, cabaret, comics, dance, contemporary art and figurative expositions.

This year's event will feature 6 stages: The Main stage, Elettrowave, Psycho Stage, Wave Up Stage, Cult Wave and Surf and Sport.

Continuing a 21 year tradition, most of the Italia Wave events are free to the public with entrance to morning and afternoon events.
